Greeting Cards for Business or Pleasure Posted By : Kaitlyn Miller
01/27/2009 - By Admin
Whether you are someone who just likes getting in touch with family and friends for no good reason or a business looking for an excuse to put your brand in front of customers, greeting cards let you reach out to people and let them know youre thinking about them. But what should you include in your greeting cards?
As an individual, you may want to keep the cards very generic just so you can use them as often as you would like. On the other hand, as a business you probably want to print greeting cards that are promoting a particular product or service. Whatever your final use, here are the basic parts of greeting cards you can use to get your message out:
Front cover
The first thing people will see is the front cover; this is where you hit them with your message. Keep the content simple as far as text is concerned and reserve the front cover for bold graphics. A simple thank you or thinking about you or even did you know? may be all you want to include on the front cover as text. Save the bulk of your written content for the inside of the card.
Inside
Standard greeting cards put printed content, such as an extended message, on the right panel of the inside cover leaving the left panel open for a personalized message. Of course, you can do whatever you want here and may try something different just to give your cards a unique feel.
Back
Often the back is reserved for business contact information or even personal contact information. You can even leave this part blank if you would like. Although, if you are going to include contact information, the back is the best place to put it as this location will not interfere with your message.
Final thoughts
To make sure you get the best results, consider having your greeting cards printed professionally. This is especially true as you want your colors to be vivid, your graphics to have sharp detail, and your paper to have the right feel and texture. While you may be able to pull this off at home, most printing firms can meet or beat do-it-yourself kits even if you are printing as few as 20 greeting cards!
